Disruption to your organisation is always unwelcome and the need to get back up and running as soon as possible will always be the first priority.

There is a risk that in the rush to bet back to normal, an invaluable opportunity is missed to take stock of what has happened to help improve your capability to respond.

We help your team to reflect on what they can learn from the experience of managing the disruption and then build this into your organisational development plan.

How we can support you

Debriefing is the process of engaging with a group of your key team members to help them take stock of the event and reflect on the lessons they have learnt from putting emergency plans into practice.

Our team possess specialist expertise and are used to running debriefing sessions to draw out lessons from participating members in a supportive and blame free environment.

We will use a supportive and facilitative approach to help your team members work as a group to assess how your plan worked, thinking about what went well and what you might do differently in the future.

Our team will work with you to define the debriefing support you require, which may include:

  • Running live debrief sessions during the period of live crisis to help capture real time insight and capture any areas for immediate action.

  • Facilitating post-event sessions several days or weeks after the emergency to help delve into the lessons learnt in more detail.

  • Developing written lessons learnt reports with recommendations for future improvement.

Benefits of our debriefing services

  • Improved emergency response capability - Using the opportunity to reflect on how your plan stood up to a real crisis can help to refine your plans informed by lived experience in collaboration, communication and leadership.

  • Increased assurance - Updating your plans after an event will further increase assurance in your business that you are ready to respond to future disruptions, significantly reducing your corporate risk exposure.
